Finnabair inspired- altered water can

hello and happy Wednesday

I am so motivated and inspired by mixed media art on Finnabair, that I feel i am gonna alter anything and everything in my house. My husband worries about his spoons and forks and his hardware too.

The present blog hop challenge is very tempting.
here is my second entry to it. This is a toy watering can which i bought for my daughter almost 8 yrs back.

  1. I mod bodged crumpled tissue paper on it, basically to give texture and also to hide all cartoon printed  on it.
  2. then applied whatever I could found in my collected trash-- old keyring, broken hairclip, broken chain, some hardware stuff, mesh, beer bottle caps, handmade flowers, , and some burlp too.
  3. Covered everthing in gesso and then applied various colors of all kind, Some 13 art ones, some tim holtz, and some American craft  acrylic colors.
  4. I covered the handles with thin cord too.
  5. Covered the sprinkler with long beaded chain. I think it looks fabulous. :)
  6. Finally applied some golden powder and silver glitter to it.
here are few closeups.

!5 yrs- time flies

Good Morning and happy Sunday.

I have made this card for my daughters 15th birthday, recycling cardboard on which the embellishments are glued on.

  1. I covered the cardboard by gesso, when dried i applied some water on it and applied Ranger distress ink ( black , brown , green) with a brush.
  2. Then stencilled it with Timholtz clock stencil.
  3. Stamped the cardboard with prima stamps .
  4. Finally added some flowers, threads, gears and needle on the clock.
I was very happy with the result.
Entering it for  lessology. cardboard challenge.

finnabair inspired -- caddy Altered art

hey All, Good morning,
There is great challenge and blog hop on finnabair . I made this altered art  project inspired by every project on it.  This was a plain wooden caddy, which looks so interesting now.:)

  1. I started with decoupaging with white tissue paper , crumpling them for giving some texture
  2. Then applied a layer of mod podge to make it stronger.
  3. did some stenciling, glued little fork and spoon, and other embellishments.
  4. Covered everything with white gesso , then applied whatever spray paints and dabbers I have.
  5. Finally applied lots of golden powder highlighting the embellishments.

these are the other three sides of the caddy.
It was a big project and took almost 10 hrs to finish. But I guess it was worth the time .

Altered Art-- altered wine bottle

Hey All
This is my Altered wine bottle project. I have used lots of techniques on it.
I decoupaged the bottle with printed paper, then gave crackle effect below the torn paper.
Also used Burlap stencil to give texture. Have used threads and cheese cloth to add more texture.
I didnt use the crackle paint but first time used a technique to have crackle effect from glue and paint. ( found on Pinterest.)
entering the project in mixedmediamc .

Sketch is from stucksketches and mood board from scraparoundtheworld.

Life is about holding n to good memories and letting go of bad ones. This pic of my daughters and me taken almost 9 years back when they made this beautiful frame on Mothers day.

These little moments keeps the life going.
